The Euros are in full swing with several Premier League stars playing on the biggest stage for their countries.
Even though international football means a slight break from the never-ending summer transfer rumor mill, there are still several potential moves to talk about.
Here are some of the major Premier League transfer rumors surrounding Euro 2020.
Man City Aggressively Pursue Harry Kane Despite a Rapidly Increasing Price Tag
It’s well known by now that Tottenham striker Harry Kanewants to leave North London. Spurs have a plethora of problems to deal with this summer which makes the departure of Kane that much more likely.
Taking a look at the odds offered by international bookies such as Quinnbet, Manchester City is the clear favorite to win the title next season with odds around 1.67, while Liverpool and Chelsea are both priced at odds 6.00
Kane hasn’t had the best tournament thus far for England, however, he did manage to score a crucial goal in their 2-0 win against Germany. Bids are still coming in for Tottenham’s star man with Man City the prime suitors.
According to reports from Fabrizio Romano and others, City are prepared to offer Tottenham £150 million for Kane in the coming weeks, a massive increase from their opening bid which came in at around £100 million.
Pep Guardiola desperately wants a true star striker in his lineup which means nothing, be it money or poor play, is going to stop City’s pursuit of Kane. It looks like Man City are bidding against themselves which only means that Daniel Levy will continue to raise the price tag for Kane as the summer continues.
Sancho to Man United Is a Done Deal
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Jadon Sancho is close to signing with Man United. For the past couple of years, we’ve heard that phrase from the media on a regular basis. On multiple occasions, the two sides have come close to an agreement before things inevitably fell through. This summer though, things are a little different. Man United is more willing to pay the nearly £100 million fee for Sancho after another trophyless season while Dortmund has lots of young talent ready to fill the hole left by Sancho’s departure.
The 21-year-old is currently playing for England at the Euros although his playing time has been sparse. On Wednesday, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that a deal was signed and Man United officially announced Sancho’s arrival yesterday. At long last, the Sancho to Man United will they, won’t they story is complete.
Danish Star Thomas Delaney Set for a Move to England
The Euros always have a few breakout stars that thanks to their play on the international level, are able to further their club careers. Dortmund midfielder Thomas Delaney has elevated his game to a whole new level during the Euros, anchoring the Danish defense during their Cinderella run to the quarterfinals.
As a result of his success at the Euros, Delaney has received interest from several Premier League clubs. According to Sky Germany, “Southampton, Norwich City, and Crystal Palace are the prime suitors.”
Juventus May Go After Xhaka Following Massive Euros Upset
France was pretty much everyone’s favorite to win Euro 2020 but alas, the defending World Cup champions could not repeat their success from 2018. In a stunning upset, France lost to Switzerland in the quarterfinals, with Swiss captain and current Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka winning man of the match honors. Xhaka is set to leave Arsenal after five years with the club. He had a decent season in the Premier League but looks content to move on.
Roma, led by former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho, appeared to have a deal in place for Xhaka, however, nothing was officially agreed to before the start of the tournament. Thanks to his performances at the Euros, Juventus are now involved in the race for Xhaka. Juventus will try to nab Xhaka at the relatively cheap price of £20 million and add another piece to an already formidable roster.
The Battle for Declan Rice Heats up After England Advance

Chelsea has been surprisingly quiet this summer after spending over £200 million a year ago. The Champions League winners are taking their time this go around but reportedly have one big target in mind: Declan Rice. Rice has been one of the best holding midfielders in the EPL for the past two seasons with West Ham. The 22-year-old came alive in England’s round of 16-match against Germany, registering a 95.4% pass accuracy and four tackles.
It’s rumored that he wants to move to a club with Champions League football. Chelsea seems like the best fit. Thomas Tuchel can pair him alongside N’golo Kante in what would be a dominant midfield duo. Additionally, both Man United and Man City are in the running for Rice’s services. It’s unlikely we’ll see the finish line on this transfer battle for quite some time.
